Autism in Entertainment encourages employers to #hiredifferent!

About us

Hello friends of neurodivergent thinkers and their cheerleaders! Welcome to the Autism in Entertainment Online Store.

On Friday, April 5, 2024, the Autism in Entertainment Workgroup hosted the first-ever one-day, in-person, employment-focused networking and educational event at Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The conference was funded by a California Department of Developmental Services Grant and hosted by the Orange County Asperger’s Support Group (OCASG) working with the Autism In Entertainment Workgroup with support from Zavikon.  Zavikon is an employment agency whose mission is to place neurodivergent individuals, as well as those with disabilities, in career-oriented meaningful jobs.

The Autism In Entertainment Logo was designed by autistic graphic artist. Jimi Bordeaux.

The Autism in Entertainment Conference mission is to expand job opportunities for creatively talented individuals on the autism spectrum. The inaugural gathering welcomed over 200 neurodivergent folks with a passion for entertainment-related fields, including film, theater, TV, animation, video games, and toys. In addition, there were Hollywood movers-and-shakers (i.e., potential employers) in attendance to impart advice, accept resumes, and share stories from the show biz trenches. One of the shiniest stars was the keynote speaker: director/artist/animator/actor Jorge Gutierrez (MAYA AND THE THREE, BOOK OF LIFE), who is on the autism spectrum himself. Jorge generously donated his original logo design to Autism in Entertainment, and we proudly offer it on a curated collection of merchandise. Proceeds benefit Autism in Entertainment initiatives, including informational webinars, business mixers, and the next large in-person confab on our home turf of Hollywood!
